SAP ABAP Cloud: Object-Oriented Programming

Modern SAP is written with objects: ABAP Cloud and RAP leave no other option. This course covers object orientation in ABAP from start to finish (encapsulation, inheritance, interfaces, polymorphism, events, exceptions, ABAP Unit and design patterns), with cloud-based development and a guided lab in every block.

What you will learn

By the end, you will be able to do this

  • Design classes with encapsulation, inheritance and polymorphism in ABAP Objects
  • Master interfaces, abstract classes, association and composition
  • Handle events, local components and self-reference
  • Manage errors with class-based exceptions (TRY/CATCH/CLEANUP/RETRY)
  • Write tests with ABAP Unit and TDD: test doubles, seams, injection and coverage
  • Apply design patterns: Singleton, Factory, Template Method, Observer, MVC
  • Set up your ABAP Cloud environment on SAP BTP, free and from scratch
  • Code following Clean ABAP and the Clean Core model

Frequently asked questions

How do I get access to this course?

With a Logali Tech subscription (courses are not sold individually). The Free plan opens the first three sections of every course; Standard and Premium unlock the full course. See Pricing.

Do I need my own SAP instance?

Logali Tech does not provide access to SAP systems. In most of the training you do not need your own license: hands-on work is done on a free SAP BTP Trial account that you create, and the course walks you through setting it up step by step. For the On-Premise courses (classic ABAP, Web Dynpro, ALV, Adobe Forms and Fiori administration) you can run the free trial system that SAP makes available (ABAP Cloud Developer Trial) on your own infrastructure, or use the SAP system in your own company environment.

Are there live classes?

Recordings are available 24/7. Live classes and live master programs are included in the Premium plan.

Do I get a certificate?

Yes. When you complete the course you earn a certificate of completion that you can add to your LinkedIn profile.
